Dentures, Bridges & Dental Implants

Dental Implants

Teeth allow us to do some of the most enjoyable things in life: enjoying meals with loved ones, having long conversations with friends or smiling in photos to create memories that will last forever. But sometimes, missing teeth or loose dentures can prevent us from making the most of these moments.

What we’re describing is common - but thankfully, it’s something that we help patients to overcome regularly. We offer a permanent, natural-looking solution that will transform the way you live your life. Those foods you used to eat whenever you could? They’ll return to your diet again, and you’ll enjoy them without any pain. The urge to cover your mouth when laughing with friends or smiling in photos? It will become a thing of the past. Instead, you’ll discover new-found confidence, happiness, and a sense of self.

Dental implants integrate into your jawbone, making them a permanent solution to replace missing or loose teeth. Not only does the tooth blend in perfectly with your other natural teeth, but the artificial titanium ‘root’ anchors it to your jaw, just like a natural tooth root. It looks and functions exactly like your natural teeth, so no one needs to know you’ve had treatment.

Dental Bridges

Bridges close gaps in your smile by replacing a missing tooth with an artificial one. The prosthetic tooth is bonded to your natural teeth on either side, creating a stable anchor. Bridges are often made from metal, although we will cover any visible surfaces in porcelain to ensure a natural, subtle appearance.

Bridges can also replace more than one missing tooth as an alternative to removable, partial dentures, although this depends on the strength of the teeth on either side of the gap.

Bridge treatment is a two-step process; at your first appointment, we will prepare your surrounding teeth and take impressions to create your prosthetic tooth. The lab will return this in around two weeks, at which point we will see you again to attach your bridge. If you clean your bridge thoroughly and avoid certain foods, it can last for up to 15 years.

Chrome dentures, also known as cast partial dentures, are a type of removable denture made from a cast metal framework and acrylic resin teeth and base. The metal framework provides strength and durability to the denture, while the acrylic resin ensures a comfortable and natural-looking fit. Chrome dentures are a popular option for patients with multiple missing teeth, as they offer a secure and stable fit, are easy to clean and maintain, and can last for many years with proper care. At Holywood Dental Care, their experienced dental team can help you determine if chrome dentures are the right solution for your dental needs.
