Dental emergencies can look very different from one person to the next. Common reasons patients contact us include:

Pain that is keeping you awake
A broken, chipped or cracked tooth

What happens at an emergency dental appointment?
The first priority is finding out what’s causing the problem and getting you comfortable.​

​Your dentist will assess the affected area, ask about your symptoms and may take an X-ray if it would help us understand what’s going on.
Depending on the problem, we may be able to treat it at the same appointment or provide treatment to relieve the immediate pain before arranging anything further that is needed. We’ll explain what we’ve found, talk you through the options and make the costs clear before carrying out treatment.

If you normally see another dentist, have recently moved to the area or simply don’t have a regular dental practice at the moment, you can still contact us if you have an urgent dental problem.​

​We welcome both existing and unregistered patients for emergency appointments at our practice on Holywood High Street, with easy access from Holywood, Belfast, Bangor and the surrounding areas.
